Is drinking water during a meal a problem?

Water drunk during a meal adds to the day's fluid and gives the meal a slower pace. What decides is not the amount but the habit itself.

Drinking water during a meal is the habit that adds to the day's fluid total and is the easiest to keep up for most people. Tying water to meals does two jobs at once: the amount drunk becomes possible to follow, and because the meal opens with a start, the time until the first mouthful gets longer.
