Does the water in what we eat count toward daily fluid?
About one fifth of the day's fluid comes from food. That share is real but small; it does not replace the water you drink, it sits inside the total.
It counts. TÜBER, Türkiye's national dietary guideline, defines daily fluid as a total and writes that about eighty percent of that total comes from water and drinks and twenty percent from food. So soup, yogurt, salad and fruit already cover part of the day's fluid; but that share does not take the place of the water you drink, it stands beside it.
