Does mineral water replace water?

Mineral water contributes to daily fluid but, unlike plain water, it carries minerals. That is why the sodium line on the label is read.

Mineral water is part of the fluid you drink and contributes to the daily total; but it has one difference from plain water: it carries dissolved minerals, and sodium is among them. TÜBER, Türkiye's national dietary guideline, recommends keeping daily salt intake in adults below 5 grams, which is below 2000 milligrams of sodium; mineral water is one of the items that enter that total.
