How do you manage late-night snacking?

Late-night snacking usually comes not from hunger but from how the rest of the day was built. The answer is not in the evening either; it is in the day.

Late-night snacking is usually not a problem of the night itself. Meals that fall short during the day, long gaps between them, and sitting down to the evening table hungry all make it easier to go back to the kitchen once the hour gets late. That is why trying to ban late-night snacking outright usually does not work; the real intervention lies in how the daytime is built.
