Does dried fruit take the place of fresh fruit?
The portion measure is very different for the two: one portion of fresh fruit is 150 grams and of dried fruit 30 grams. The difference comes from the water leaving.
Dried fruit and fresh fruit are in the same group, but their portions are not the same. Türkiye Beslenme Rehberi, the national dietary guideline, gives one standard portion as 30 grams for dried fruits and 150 grams for most fresh fruits. The fivefold difference between them comes from the water leaving; a fruit that dries loses its volume, and everything else inside it gathers into the same small piece.
