Does boiling vegetables change the calories?
Boiling changes the calories of a vegetable by a small amount; the direction differs from vegetable to vegetable. With broccoli almost not at all, with carrots it drops by fifteen percent.
Boiling does not change the calories to any great degree, but the direction changes with the vegetable. With USDA data, a portion of 150 grams of broccoli carries 51 calories raw and about 53 calories boiled. With carrots the same portion falls from 62 calories to 53 calories.
